Travel Suggestions
We look forward to celebrating with you in Bridgeport, California! The town is a 2 hour drive from Reno, Nevada. There are several options for accommodations in town. We have chosen this scenic location in part for its significance to the Colodny family, who have had a cabin in nearby Twin Lakes since the 1970s. There are plenty of nearby activities and destinations to explore if you have some spare time. .
FLIGHTS
Newark to Reno
There are direct flight options from Newark to Reno. This is our recommended option for guests coming from the Philadelphia area to reduce the risk of travel delays.
If coming from Philadelphia, consider taking Amtrak from 30th St Station to Newark Penn (short cab ride to airport) or Newark Liberty Airport stations.
Tips - Book Amtrak early for lower fares! For return travel, there is a NJ Transit option with connection to Septa at Trenton that does not require buying scheduled tickets.
Philadelphia to Reno
Flights from Philadelphia to Reno require a connection and are usually 7-8 hours of travel time.
TRANSPORTATION
Coordinating with other guests to carpool rental cars may be helpful. If you are staying downtown in Bridgeport, all events for the weekend will be walkable. However, you will need a car if you're interested in any sightseeing in the area. Uber options may be extremely limited or unavailable.

CAR
Rental cars are available at the Reno airport. You may want to consider AWD depending on your appetite for adventure.
BUS
There is a bus that runs once daily between Reno and Bridgeport.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Bridgeport and Twin Lakes serve fishing and outdoor recreation tourism. We recommend booking early to lock in accommodations. Most options open to reservations 12 months in advance, with cabin rentals often offering prioritization to previous clients.
HOTELS
We recommend staying in Bridgeport or the immediate surrounding area for our celebration. There are very limited Airbnb options in the area. If you’re a little more adventurous, see more outdoorsy options further below.
WALKER RIVER LODGE
The Walker River Lodge is the largest local accommodation. It is a motel with several room size options, including suites with kitchenettes. This is a clean, reliable option for guests.

BODIE HOTEL
The Bodie Hotel is a 7 room historic hotel that is a short walking distance to the wedding venue. This hotel was recently renovated and offers more of a boutique hotel experience. It is also a short walk from the venue.
SILVER MAPLE INN
This historic roadside inn is the closest to the venue and offers single or double bed rooms.
OUTDOORSY LODGING
DOC AND AL’S
Family friendly campground with options for cabin rental, camper trailer rental, RV parking, and dry camping.
TWIN LAKES RESORT
Lakeside resort with cabin rentals and RV sites.
Boat and paddle board rentals also available!
BUCKEYE CAMPGROUND
National Forest campground with permitted campsites. There is also unreserved car camping sites along the road to the campground. (Mycie and Allison can provide more details if interested)
MONO VILLAGE
Full service fishing resort with "rental cabins and motels, a 300 space campground, a fully stocked grocery store with an ATM machine, a fully equipped boat house, boat and pontoon boat rentals, a cafe, cocktail lounge, a beautiful gift shop featuring clothing and assorted gift items, a spacious lawn area offering BBQ’s and picnic tables, propane, wood, ice and fishing license sales, shower and laundry facilities, family style restroom/showers, and much, much more."
